Arlene Weigner
Arlene Weigner went into the arms of her Lord on January 18, 2021. She was born April 19, 1929 to Elmer and Lillian (Landis) Weikel of East Norriton. Arlene worked at various places around Norristown, including Durante’s and Montgomery Hospital – where she met the love of her life. Together, with her beloved husband of 38 years, William H. Weigner, they raised their family on Corson Street in Norristown. What began as a love between two people, grew to five children, eleven grandchildren, and nineteen great grandchildren.
Her greatest joy in life was watching her family grow and she delighted in each new addition. She loved family get togethers, making large family meals and holiday pies and cookies for everyone. She loved planning family trips each year to Dorney Park, the Philadelphia Zoo, Wildwood, NJ, and the Poconos. As her children grew into adults, she enjoyed taking trips to Atlantic City with them and playing slots and bingo. She was also a big animal lover, leading to a lot of pets in their home over the years. She and William also raised rabbits to donate to the petting zoo area of Elmwood Park Zoo.
She was welcomed into Heaven by her husband, her parents, her son William H. Weigner, Jr. (Virginia), three daughters: Linda (James) Smith, Joanne (Jim) Foraker, Donna (Joshua) Myers. She was also preceded by brothers: Warren, Wallace, Charles, Harry, Elmer, Morris, Leroy, and Herbert, and sisters: Margaret White, Viola Myers, Edith Myers, and Mildred, were also there to greet her.
A loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, she will be missed by many, including surviving daughter, Deborah (William) Hefferon. Due to covid restrictions, the beautiful service that had been planned cannot be held, and only a graveside service is allowed. This will be held on Friday, January 22, 2021 at 2 PM at Gulph Christian Church Cemetery, 100 Matsons Ford Road, West Conshohocken, PA 19428. Arr. with the Caramenico FH Inc., Ntn., PA.
