LC’s O’Rourke wins District 12 title

The Lansdale Catholic boys and girls swim teams competed in the District 12 Championsh­ips this past weekend at the Alberta Morris pool in Philadelph­ia.

Senior Ryan O’Rourke won the 100-yard breaststro­ke and earned a trip to the state championsh­ip meet at Cumberland Valley High School next week.

O’Rourke has won the 100 breast for the last three years. He also won a silver medal in the 50 free.

LC’s John Murphy, a senior, was eighth in the 50 free and seventh in the 100 free.

The LC girls traveled with seven members.

Both the 200 and 400 free relays placed second with Brynne U’Selis, Emily McGovern, Grace Picozzi and Brielle U’Selis competing in both relays.

Other medals in individual events included senior Brynne U’Selis (second in the 100 free and third in the 50 free), Faith Morrisey (second in the 500 free).

All-District 12 honors went to Brielle U’Selis for the 100 back, Picozzi in the 100 free and Morrisey in the 200 free.

Isabella Greco and Jordan Morrisey also garnered points for the Crusaders, who finished fourth overall as Archbishop Wood won the team title.

PENNRIDGE 68, BENSALEM 45 >> Luke Yoder scored 27 points as the Rams rolled to a win over the Owls Tuesday.

Colin Monahan and Colin Post joined Yoder in double figures with 15 and 11 points, respective­ly.

Pennridge took a 12-point lead after the first quarter and went to halftime ahead by 10. The advantage more than doubled to 23. 4926, after a dominant third quarter.

WISSAHICKO­N 63, CB SOUTH 43 >> Matt Compas scored 17 of his game-high 25 points in the first half of the Trojans win over CB South Tuesday.

Earl Stout picked up his play in the second half for Wissahicko­n, scoring 12 of his 19 points after the break.

SOUDERTON 50, UPPER DUBLIN 48 >> Souderton overcame a five-point deficit heading into the fourth quarter to knock off Upper Dublin Tuesday.

Evan Kutzler led the Indians with 15 points while Drew Stover led the Cardinals with a gamehigh 20.

CB EAST 74, CB WEST 50 >> Joe Jackman, Jacob Cummiskey and Liam Cummiskey scored in double figures to lead East to a win over West Tuesday.

Jackman finished with 17 points while Jacob Cummiskey had 14 and Liam Cummiskey 12.

The Patriots built a 21-5 lead after the first quarter and never looked back, extending their advantage to 42-18 at halftime. PHOENIXVIL­LE 42, METHACTON 39 >> Falling off the pace in the fourth quarter Tuesday, the Warriors were overtaken by the Phantoms and came up short of their hosts in PAC Frontier Division play.

Methacton, getting 15 points from Cole Hargrove and 11 more from Jason Price, netted just five points down the stretch after going into the fourth with a 34-30 lead. Mike Memmo shared game scoring honors with Hargrove at 15 points while Jackson Kuranda followed at 13.
