Dynamic Celebration Lighting looking for ‘community heroes’
Company will award a home holiday lights installation
LIMERICK » Dynamic Celebration Lighting — a new holiday lighting company based in Limerick — wants to brighten someone’s holiday this year. And the company wants the community to help find the right person.
The company has launched its first Holiday Lights for Heroes initiative. The company is seeking nominations for community heroes that have made a difference in the community and will reward one person with a home holiday lighting installation valued at $2,000.
“This year has been a difficult year for so many — the economy finding jobs, people out of work, food insecurity in the area. I figured there have been a lot of people that have stepped up to lift spirits and help others.” said Kirk Brown, owner of Dynamic Celebration Lighting, a spin-off of Kirk’s Lawn Care.
Brown said the company is accepting nominations online for community heroes at holidaylightsforheroes.com through Nov. 20.
“I thought it would be cool to highlight those people and reward one of them with something to bring their spirits up, when they have been doing so much for so many other people,” he added.
The nomination form asks for the name, address and phone number of both the nominee and the person submitting the nomination. In addition, the form asks for the relationship between nominee and nominator.
The person making the nomination is asked to describe what makes the nominee a community hero, and why they should receive the holiday lighting package.
“People can nominate a community hero they know — a spouse coworker, friend or neighbor — anyone they feel is deserving of a home holiday lights makeover,” Brown said.
A community hero could be someone that has been on the front line of the pandemic or that started a nonprofit to help others. He said the website “loosely” defines what a hero is.
“We didn’t want to put too many parameters on it, because we want to find some unique and inspiring stories,” he added.
Once the nomination period ends. Brown and his team will go through the nominations, looking for unique stories. He expects to announce the winner by the end of November.
The winner will receive a holiday lighting display worth up to $2,000. The package will include the installation of the lights, maintenance if lights go out during the holidays, extension cords and timers, takedown and storage.
