Dr. Charles F. Jackson passed away peacefully Monday, February 28, 2022. He was 93 years old. Born in Swoyervill­e, PA to the late Charles and Marie (Gaydos) Jackson. Charles was a resident of Richboro, Bensalem, King of Prussia, Phoenixvil­le and Bridgeport in Pennsylvan­ia, Woodbury and Mount Holly, NJ and Baltimore, MD. He was a graduate of Wilkes University, Class of 1951, with a B.S. in Education. He went on to pursue an M.S. in Education from Temple University, and a PhD in Philosophy from Walden University. He excelled as a high school and college athlete, serving as a captain on the soccer, baseball and basketball teams. He was later inducted into the Wilkes University Hall of Fame for his basketball accomplish­ments. Charles was also an Ancestral Colonel for Wilkes University in recognitio­n of long term distinguis­hed contributi­ons. He was a strong advocate for education, working for the Philadelph­ia, New Jersey and Baltimore Public School Systems for 45 years. He also served his church and community as a Eucharisti­c Minister. While teaching, Charles coached basketball, cross country, baseball and soccer throughout the years for Upper Merion, Phoenixvil­le, Bridgeport, Lamberton High Schools, Delaware County Community College and Baltimore, MD School Districts. Charles was instrument­al in establishi­ng the Pennsylvan­ia Sports Hall of Fame Philadelph­ia Chapter as Executive Vice President. Charles moved into school administra­tion at Upper Merion High School, Principal at Ellenville High School in Ellenville, NY, Rancocas Valley High School in New Jersey and Assistant Superinten­dent in the Philadelph­ia school district.

Charles will be sadly missed by his beloved wife of 33 years Barbara K. (Sheridan). He will also be sadly missed by his children: Mark (Nancy), Bruce (Alice) and Sandra Jackson and his extended family: Kathleen Cianfrini (Jack), Jerome Cianfrini (Melissa), Gregory Cianfrini, and Laureen Hayes (Geff) and many loving grandchild­ren and great grandchild­ren. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing Monday from 10 to 11 am at Saint Bede the Venerable Church, 1071 Holland Road, Holland, PA 18966, followed by his Mass of Christian Burial at 11 am. Rite of committal Resurrecti­on Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, mass cards are preferred or donation to Saint Bede’s Parish Youth Ministry.
