MC-NPL announces May children’s programs

NORRISTOWN » Montgomery County-Norristown Public Library, 1001 Powell Street, Norristown, announces its May lineup for children’s program. Programs are planned for in-person participat­ion and are subject to change based on COVID-19 guideline. Masks are recommende­d unless otherwise specified. Some programs may require masking.

Storytimes will be conducted in the children’s picture book area. Programs begin on time. Children under age 8 must be accompanie­d by an adult.

Crafts to Go! Saturdays,

May 21

Pick up a grab-and-go packet of painting or craft supplies to make some fun creations at home! A different project every week. Use the instructio­ns included to assemble the project on your own. Supplies limited. Some projects require additional supplies. Call the library at 610-278-5100 ext. 205 to reserve your packet. Intended for ages 5-12. Homework Hangout Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 4:00-6:00 pm, through June 2

Moon and Stars Mobile Tuesday, May 3 — Drop in craft

Mail-Your-FavoriteCh­aracters + Big Kid Scavenger Hunt Tuesday, May 17, all day Join us for a day of writing letters to your favorite book characters (including Pete the Cat, Fancy Nancy, Spiderman, Pikachu, Naruto, and more)! Then, ages 4 to 8 can deliver letters from the post office station to the characters’ personal mailboxes scattered throughout the Children’s Department, and ages 9 to 12 can try to find all 10 mailboxes as a big kid scavenger hunt activity — because a few mailboxes will be extra hard to find! NASD early dismissal activity. Masks are recommende­d.

Young Sprouts Garden Club

The Children’s Department has a garden! Join us there to do some planting and tending. REGISTRATI­ON REQUIRED. We’ll meet at our community garden plot at Eisenhower School (1601 Markley St.). Honor and remember those who gave all for our country by creating this Memorial Day Poppy Flower Craft. The red poppy is the national symbol to recognize all the Americans who died in wars. Call 610-2785100 x205 to reserve your packet. For ages 5-12.
