Charles Tuturice, 95, of Norristown passed away peacefully on Friday, October 14, 2022 at the Brandywine Senior Suites. Born on May 17, 1927 in Norristown, he was the son of the late Rosario and Ninfa (Bongiovi) Tuturice.

Mr. Tuturice, also known as “The Mayor” or “The Ambassador” to those who knew and loved him at the Brandywine Senior Suites where he resided for over 15 years. He was a lifelong resident of the Norristown area. During this time, he owned and operated, along with his other three brothers, Tuturice Brothers, Inc., a successful recycling and hauling company that was founded by his father in 1911. He was at the family business until he retired in 1990. Mr. Tuturice also served his country proudly as a member of the United States Navy during WWII where he was stationed in the South Pacific, the Atlantic and the Adriatic Sea aboard the USS Fargo. In his spare time Charles enjoyed dedicating his time to his community, and was also involved in many groups who supported his love for dancing. He would teach line dancing, ballroom dancing and the chacha at many dance studios. He served as treasurer of the Norristown LAM for over 50 years. He also enjoyed umpiring at Little League Games. Charles loved to play bocce at Senior Suites, Wii bowling, and especially bingo with his many friends he had made over his 15 year residence at Senior Suites. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with his loving family. He was a dedicated father, grandfathe­r, uncle, brother and a dear friend to everyone who met him and he will be missed by many.

In addition to his parents, Charles was preceded in death by his three brothers, Barney Tuturice, Albert “Ben” Tuturice, and Frank Tuturice. He was also preceded in death by his two sisters, Mary Cavallaro and his twin sister, Grace “Peggy” Heleniak as well as his former wife, Marie “Mia” Picariello Tuturice who is the mother of his daughters, Roxanne and Robyn.

He is survived by his daughters, Roxanne (Walter) Young and Robyn (Bruce) Leto and his grandchild­ren, Bruce Leto, Jr. and Alexandra Leto and many beloved nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are invited to call on Saturday, November 26, 2022 from 9:00 -9:50 am at St. Paul Roman Catholic Church, 2007 New Hope St., East Norriton, PA where the funeral Mass will follow at 10:00am. Burial will take place at St. Patrick’s Cemetery , East Norriton, PA where Military Honors will be held.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to: Wounded Warrior Project, Prostate Cancer Survivors (yananow.org), and the Pitch In for Softball & Baseball Foundation.
