DA announces investigat­ion into shooting homicide in Norristown

NORRISTOWN >> Montgomery County District Attorney Kevin R. Steele and Norristown Police Chief Derrick Wood announce an investigat­ion into a fatal shooting that occurred at approximat­ely 10 p.m., Monday, Nov. 21, 2022 on West Main Street in Norristown. The victim was identified as Tyrone Guy, 35, of Philadelph­ia.

Norristown Police responded to the 900 block of West Main Street to a report of shots fired and found the victim on the sidewalk suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. The victim was transporte­d to Einstein Medical Center in Philadelph­ia, where he died of his wounds at approximat­ely 2 a.m. A joint investigat­ion into the homicide has been launched by the Montgomery County Detective Bureau and Norristown

Police.

An autopsy was conducted on the Guy’s body by Forensic Pathologis­t Victoria Sorokin of the Philadelph­ia Medical Examiner’s Office. Dr. Sorokin determined the cause of death was multiple gunshot wounds and the manner of death was homicide.
