New Wil­low Run plat ap­proved

The fi­nal plat for Wil­low Run, a new sub­di­vi­sion on the south side of Slack Street, was ap­proved in a spe­cial meet­ing Mon­day night.

De­vel­oper Kevin Fel­gen­hauer asked city of­fi­cials for the spe­cial meet­ing, for which he will be billed, as he an­tic­i­pated hav­ing met all re­quire­ments and wanted to get the fi­nal plat to the City Coun­cil for ap­proval in­stead of wait­ing an­other month.

City Street De­part­ment su­per­in­ten­dent Nathan See and city build­ing of­fi­cial Tony Townsend both told plan­ners Fel­gen­hauer had com­pleted all work nec­es­sary.

Plan­ner Jerry Bur­ton asked Fel­gen­hauer about the two prop­er­ties ad­ja­cent to the sub­di­vi­sion. Fel­gen­hauer told plan­ners he had pur­chased one of them and planned to clean up the yard and fence it. He said he may raze the house in the fu­ture and add more du­plexes.

He also asked whether there is a plan of mak­ing the front prop­erty com­mer­cial.

“We’ve talked about it. I don’t know about the need,” Fel­gen­hauer said.

Plan­ning Com­mis­sion mem­bers

Don­nie Ewald, Michael Wil­helm, Jerry Bur­ton and Al Fowler were present. Ewald chaired the meet­ing.

The only item miss­ing on the re­quired check-list was a no­ta­tion of zon­ing for the prop­erty and ad­ja­cent prop­er­ties, one of which is in the county.

“You need to talk to those en­gi­neers,” Bur­ton said, about the lack of no­ta­tion for the cur­rent zon­ing. “They have a copy of this (cur­rent re­quire­ments of check list). It gets old and it’s a bur­den.”

“They have a copy and should be well aware,” Bur­ton said.

Townsend told plan­ners there would be no tech re­view on July 12 as there is noth­ing to dis­cuss.
