May­ors re­tain seats

In both Pea Ridge and Garfield, in­cum­bent may­ors won re­elec­tion, as did one City Coun­cil mem­ber in Garfield. Two new Coun­cil mem­bers were elected in Pea Ridge.

Jackie Crab­tree, mayor of Pea Ridge for the past 24 years, won re-elec­tion with 65.23 per­cent of the vote com­pared to the 34.77 per­cent gar­nered by op­po­nent Mechel Wall.

Gary Black­burn won his sec­ond term with 61 per­cent of the votes com­pared to 36.51 per­cent for for­mer al­der­man Kathy Shook and 2.49 per­cent for Dale King.

In Pea Ridge, Cody Keene will take the seat be­ing va­cated by Lance San­ders and Matt Ahart will re­place long-time coun­cil mem­ber Bob Cot­ting­ham.

In Garfield, in­cum­bent Jim Teeselink main­tained his seat with 74.06 per­cent of the vote.

As of Oct. 21, the num­ber of regis­tered vot­ers in Pea Ridge were 3,390 and in Garfield were 392. Voter turnout was 49 per­cent.
