Stephen Stokes Goodgion

BOSSIER - Stephen Stokes Goodgion, 72, passed away Sunday, October 8, 2023. A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, October 12, 2023, at Forest Park Cemetery, 3700 St. Vincent Avenue, Shreveport, LA. Officiating the service will be Dr. Tom Harrison of Broadmoor Baptist Church. A visitation will be held at Osborn Funeral Home, Wednesday, October 11, 2023, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.

Stephen was a lifelong resident of Shreveport/ Bossier and dedicated 52 years to his passion in the construction industry to H&H Contracting Company. He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Opal Goodgion. He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Linda Herrin Goodgion; an older brother, Frank “Goody” Goodgion; three daughters, Susie Stewart and husband, Josh, Jennifer Brantley and husband, Jim, and Kristen Feibel and husband, Marc; five grandsons, Carl Escude and wife, Ashley, Kennth Irby and wife, Dakota, Stephen Irby, Kody Feibel and Cain Feibel; one great-granddaughter, Rebel Irby; four great-grandsons, Corbin Assimos, Levi Irby, Greyson Escude and Elijah Escude; and lifelong childhood best friend, Stephen Earl Prather.

As many would say, when Steve was born they broke the mold. This is such a true statement. He was one of a kind and even though our hearts are broken for this loss, we know that he gave so much to so many. He will be truly missed and forever loved in our hearts.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorials may be made to Broadmoor Baptist Church Preschool Ministry or Missions, 4110 Youree Dr, Shreveport, LA 71105 or any charity of the donor’s choosing.
