Kyle DeVerna and Brandon Feinberg each scored 14 points to lead the University of Scranton to a 70-61 win over Montclair State in a men’s basketball game Monday in San Juan, Puerto Rico.

Mitch Cross, Abington Heights graduate Ethan Danzig, Feinberg and Matthew Mancuso hit consecutiv­e 3-pointers during a spurt in the first half as the Royals (8-2) built a 39-28 halftime lead.

John Vitkus had 11 points and six rebounds for Scranton.

Muhlenberg 70, Marywood 59

At Scranton, Muhlenberg College shot 51 percent from the field in the second half to rally for a win.

Marywood led by five at halftime but the Mules opened the second half on a 12-2 run and held the Pacers to 32 percent shooting after halftime.

Dexter Shy scored 18 points for the Pacers (0-9) and Tip Swartz had 14. Honesdale graduate Kevin Miller scored five points for Muhlenberg.

Women’s basketball

Abington Heights graduate Catie Nealon scored 14 points to lead Marywood University to a 54-46 win over Lebanon Valley College.

The Pacers (5-5) opened the game on an 11-0 run and held Lebanon Valley scoreless for the first four minutes.

Erika Thomas added 12 points for Marywood and Honesdale graduate Natasha Hessling had 11 points, eight rebounds and four steals.
