Ge­orge Samuel Bound Jr., 79, of Tay­lor, died Mon­day morn­ing at River­side Re­ha­bil­i­ta­tion & Nurs­ing Cen­ter, Tay­lor, af­ter an ill­ness. He is sur­vived by his beloved wife, Anna Kauf­mann Bound. The cou­ple cel­e­brated their 55th wed­ding an­niver­sary Aug. 12.

Born Dec. 11, 1937, son of the late Ge­orge Samuel Sr. and He­len Ni­dak Bound, he worked as a com­puter pro­gram­mer and even­tu­ally as a pro­gram­ming man­ager for AT&T be­fore re­tir­ing from UNUM (pre­vi­ously Com­mer­cial Life). Raised within a proud fam­ily of veter­ans, he hon­or­ably served as a mem­ber of the Marine Corps Re­serve, re­ceiv­ing an hon­or­able dis­charge in 1956. He was also hon­or­ably dis­charged from the Army in 1962.

Ge­orge en­joyed play­ing tennis and com­puter games, and his fa­vorite hobby was col­lect­ing WWII model air­planes. A lov­ing hus­band, fa­ther, grand­fa­ther and brother, he will be for­ever missed by his fam­ily and friends.

He is also sur­vived by two sons, Craig Bound and wife, Michele, of Old Forge; and Rex Bound and wife, Wendy, of We­ston, W.Va.; four grand­chil­dren, Ash­ley, Kathryn, Ezekiel and Tay­lor Bound; two brothers, James and Ron­ald Bound; nieces and neph­ews.

His fam­ily would like to thank the en­tire staff of River­side Re­ha­bil­i­ta­tion and Nurs­ing Cen­ter and Dr. Guy Fas­ciana for the amaz­ing care given to Ge­orge through­out his ill­ness.

Pri­vate ar­range­ments are un­der the care of the Thomas P. Kear­ney Funeral Home Inc., 517 N. Main St., Old Forge.
