John J. O’Donnell Jr., 85, of Roaring Brook Twp., died Saturday evening at his home after an illness. His wife of 62 years is the former Elizabeth Ann Ludwikowski.
Born Oct. 10, 1931, in Scranton, son of the late John J. and Mollie Radle O’Donnell, John was a 1949 graduate of Scranton Central High School and served in the Navy Reserve, obtaining the rank of electrician’s mate third-class.
John was owner of O’Donnell Construction for many years and was a member of St. Catherine of Siena Church, Moscow. He was a member of Knights of Columbus Council 6050 in Moscow, and was a past grand knight and a fourthdegree member.
Also surviving are his children, Patricia E. Daniels and husband, Rick, Exton; John J. O’Donnell III and wife, Gemma, Flagstaff, Ariz.; Kathleen A. Cunningham and husband, Michael, Lansdale; and Paul V. O’Donnell, Scranton; four grandchildren, Christopher Daniels, Matthew Daniels, Colleen O’Donnell and Kara Breazeale; three great-grandchildren, Ella and Alexandria Daniels, and Brooklyn Gemma Breazeale; nieces and nephews.
He was also preceded in death by his sisters, Arlene Murray and Jacqueline Marker.
Mass will be celebrated Friday at 10 a.m. in St. Catherine of Siena Church, 220 Church St., Moscow. Interment will be at St. Catherine’s Cemetery, Moscow.
