Exterminator cited for harassment

A Scranton exterminator faces a harassment charge after a borough resident reported he made sexual advances toward her pregnant daughter when he was at their home to fumigate the residence.

A woman at a borough home called Blakely police on Sunday to report that she had recently hired an exterminator, John M. Dougherty, 48, 836 N. Irving Ave. and that Mr. Dougherty had also made a lewd comment to her about her daughter over the phone. The woman’s daughter told police Mr. Dougherty made comments to her on three occasions, one time grabbing her arm, trying to kiss her on the cheek and telling her that she “looked good for nine months pregnant,” according to the police report.

Mr. Dougherty is charged with summary harassment and is charged via summons.
