Editor: I can’t believe the Scranton School District will have a $24 million deficit despite having borrowed $40 million to shore up the budget last year.
The people of Scranton should be outraged and should make it clear when they go to the polls next year. It is completely unacceptable to continue to raise taxes on the elderly tax base who, for the most part, don’t have children in the school system.
The members of the school board, just like Mayor Bill Courtright, are incompetent and incapable of doing their jobs.
Scrantonians need to elect people who can straighten out the mess once and for all. TIM BOYER SCRANTON
