Joseph F. Lozinski, 93, of Roaring Brook Twp., died Monday at Hospice of the Sacred Heart, Dunmore. He was the husband of the former Helen Stankiewic­z. The couple was married for 58 years on Nov. 8.

Born in Taylor, son of the late Thomas and Mary Sudol Lozinski, he graduated from Old Forge High School in 1942. Joe enlisted in the Army after graduating and was trained to repair radios in aircraft and later to operate RADAR. After being honorably discharged, he attended Coyne Electrical School in Chicago and returned to Pennsylvan­ia, where he worked at the Tobyhanna Army Depot as an electronic­s technician for 24 years until his retirement.

Joe was an active member of St. Eulalia Parish in Roaring Brook Twp., where he served as the head usher, was on the parish council and volunteere­d at the annual picnic. He was also a member of John J. Michaels Memorial VFW Post 5207 in Covington Twp. and served on the Zoning Board of Roaring Brook Twp.

An avid outdoorsma­n, Joe enjoyed hunting and fishing, especially the fishing trips to Canada. Most importantl­y, he was devoted to his family, especially his grandchild­ren. The lessons that he taught them and they taught him were plentiful and will never be forgotten.

Also surviving are his two daughters, Marilyn Watkins and her husband, Ray, Madison Twp.; and Lisa Smith and her husband, Ted, Madison Twp.; grandchild­ren, Emily Smith, Ray H. Watkins IV and Grace Watkins; and nieces and nephews.

He was also preceded in death by his sisters, Ann, Nora, Camilla, Sophie and Cecelia; brothers, Stanley, Steve and John; and two infant siblings.

The funeral will be Friday at 11:30 a.m. from Brian Arthur Strauch Funeral Homes and Cremation Services LLC, 3 First St., Spring Brook Twp., with a Mass of Christian Burial at noon in St. Eulalia Parish, 214 Blue Shutters Road, Roaring Brook Twp., to be celebrated by Monsignor John W. Jordan. Interment with rite of committal and military honors will follow in St. Catherine’s Cemetery, Covington Twp.

Viewing will be Thursday, 4 to 7 p.m., at the funeral home.
