Mary B. Malcolm

Mary B. Malcolm, 96, of Scranton, formerly of Throop, died Tuesday morning at Allied Services Skilled Nursing Center. Her husband, William Malcolm, died in 1995.

Born in Throop, daughter of the late Nicholas and Susan Yuhas Almacy, she was educated in Throop schools. While living in New Jersey, she was a retired inspector with Paper Products Co., Edison, N.J. She was a former member of St. Mary’s-St. John’s Church, Throop.

Surviving are a niece and nephew, Patricia and husband, Michael Hacker, Boston, N.Y., who were her caregivers.

She was also preceded in death by a son, William E. Malcolm, who was killed in Vietnam in 1970; seven sisters and four brothers.

The funeral will be Friday with a blessing service at 10 a.m. from the John F. Glinsky Funeral Home, 445 Sanderson St., Throop, by Monsignor Michael J. Delaney, pastor, Blessed Sacrament Parish, Throop. Entombment, Fairview Memorial Park Mausoleum.
