Ann S. Moyles, 70, of Olyphant and formerly of Dunmore, died Monday morning at Regional Hospital of Scranton. Her husband, John P., died Feb. 21, 2008. The couple had been married for 38 years.

Born in Scranton, she was the daughter of the late Anthony and Genevieve Edwards Scaringi and was a graduate of Dunmore High School. She graduated from Marywood College with a bachelor’s degree in education and received her master’s and principal’s certificat­e from the University of Scranton. She taught at West Scranton High School and Dunmore High School and retired after 34 years from Scranton Preparator­y School, where she taught English, speech, creative writing and was the drama director. She had a passion for teaching and her students. She was an avid reader and enjoyed movies and history. She loved the beach and traveling and especially loved spending time with her children and grandchild­ren. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her.

Surviving are a daughter, Dolores Moyles, Throop; a son, John A. and his wife, Helene B., and grandchild­ren, Genevieve A., Emily M. and Anthony John Moyles, all of Dickson City; a sister, Palama E. Scaringi, Florida; a brother, Nicholas Scaringi, Taylor; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was also preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Daniel J. Moyles.

The funeral will be Friday from the Carlucci-GoldenDeSa­ntis Funeral Home Inc., 318 E. Drinker St., Dunmore, with Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Eulalia’s Church, Roaring Brook Twp. Entombment, Cathedral Cemetery.
