Kenneth D. Gallinger

Kenneth D. Gallinger, 80, of Harford, Pa., and Brighton, Mich., passed away, Wednesday, Dec. 14, 2016, at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in Ypsilanti, Mich.

Born Nov. 1, 1936, in Watertown, N.Y., he was the son of Kenneth D. and Frances C. (Lappeus-Smith) Gallinger. He graduated from Ohio Wesleyan University with a B.A. degree and worked for General Motors in labor relations for 37 years before retiring in 1998. Along with his wife, RuthAnne (1935-2011), he raised four children in New York and Michigan, before retiring to family property in Harford. Active in both communitie­s, he split time between Pennsylvan­ia and Michigan. He was a member of the First Congregati­onal UCC church in Harford.

Survivors include sons and daughters-in-law, Kurt and Dawn Gallinger, of Brighton, Mich.; and Geoffrey and Vicki Gallinger, of Bloomfield Hills, Mich.; daughter and son-in-law, Kay and Gene Diebler, of Perry, Mich.; son, Randy Gallinger, of Olathe, Kan.; seven grandchild­ren; one great-grandchild; and sisters, Priscilla Allen, of Harford, and Gail Kelley, of Evansville, Ind.

Memorial services will be held for the family in 2017 at the First Congregati­onal UCC Church, Harford. The family will receive friends at the conclusion of the service.
