Hollywood releases some of its best and most-anticipated movies of the year in December, making the holiday break the perfect chance to catch up on what’s hot.

This week’s newcomers include animated comedy “Sing,” sci-fi action/drama “Passengers” and video game adaptation “Assassin’s Creed,” while Prohibition-era crime drama “Live by

Night,” NASA period drama “Hidden Figures” and an adaptation of August Wilson’s “Fences” all follow on Dec. 30.

Moviegoers also should still be able to catch more recent releases, including “Rogue

One: A Star Wars Story,” critical darling “Manchester by the Sea,” Disney cartoon “Moana”

and raunchy comedy “Office Christmas Party.”
