Cham­ber hon­ors best with SAGE awards

The Greater Scran­ton Cham­ber of Com­merce awarded its Scran­ton Awards for Growth and Ex­cel­lence, or SAGE awards, Fri­day night.

The eco­nomic de­vel­op­ment or­ga­ni­za­tion took in more than 80 ap­pli­ca­tions for the an­nual con­test that hon­ors out­stand­ing lo­cal busi­nesses and their lead­ers for tal­ent, cre­ativ­ity and in­no­va­tion.

The SAGE awards were pre­sented Fri­day night dur­ing the cham­ber’s an­nual gala at the Hil­ton Scran­ton & Con­fer­ence Cen­ter.

The fol­low­ing were named win­ners:

■ Best Prac­tices in Com­mu­nity In­volve­ment: NET Credit Union.

■ Best Prac­tices in Cus­tomer Ser­vice: Wood­loch Re­sort.

■ Best Prac­tices in Mar­ket­ing & Com­mu­ni­ca­tions: Wood­loch Re­sort.

■ Busi­ness of the Year: Lock­heed Martin Mis­siles and Fire Control.

■ Ex­cel­lence in Lead­er­ship: Pep­per­jam.

■ Fastest Grow­ing Com­pany: Fi­delity Bank.

■ Home­town Star: The Univer­sity of Scran­ton: Down­town Scav­enger Hunt.

■ New & Emerg­ing Busi­ness of the Year: Quest Stu­dio.

■ Non­profit Or­ga­ni­za­tion of the Year: Outreach Cen­ter for Com­mu­nity Re­sources.

■ Pride & Progress; Ex­te­rior Ren­o­va­tions: Lack­awanna Col­lege.

■ Pride & Progress; In­te­rior Ren­o­va­tions: Al­lone Health.

■ Pride & Progress; New Con­struc­tion: Gertrude Hawk Choco­lates.

■ Small Busi­ness of the Year: Pos­ture In­ter­ac­tive.

■ Woman of Ex­cel­lence: Talia Walsh, Quest Stu­dio.

■ Peo­ple’s Choice Award; Bor­ough of Dun­more: Home­town He­roes Ban­ner Pro­ject.
