South­ern Columbia stomps Wilm­ing­ton

South­ern Columbia scored the fi­nal 42 points of the game and rolled past Wilm­ing­ton, 49-14, to win its PIAA record ninth foot­ball cham­pi­onship, claim­ing the Class 2A ti­tle Fri­day af­ter­noon at Her­shey­park Sta­dium.

Gaige Gar­cia scored five touch­downs and ac­counted for 203 yards of of­fense, and Gavin Gar­cia scored the other two TDS for the Tigers.

Class 5A

At Her­shey, Dae­quan Hardy turned in a four­touch­down ef­fort as Penn Hills edged Man­heim Cen­tral, 36-31, in a game stopped when a Man­heim Cen­tral player was taken off the field on a stretcher af­ter a col­li­sion on an on­side kick in the wan­ing sec­onds.

Hardy scored on TD catches of 74 and 27 yards, an 84-yard kick­off re­turn and a 100-yard in­ter­cep­tion re­turn, one of four picks by the win­ners.
