Allen, Blues blank Jets
St. Louis goalie stops all 26 shots in shutout of Winnipeg.
WINNIPEG, Manitoba — Jake Allen made 26 saves for his first shutout of the season and the St. Louis Blues beat the Winnipeg Jets, 1-0, on Friday night.
Alex Steen scored during a second-period power play.
Allen’s last shutout was a 3-0 victory over Dallas on Dec. 7, 2017. He’s 8-7-4 in 21 games this season.
Connor Hellebuyck made 25 saves for Jets. They had won four straight.
Stars 3, Sharks 2
At Dallas, Ben Bishop made a season-high 41 saves, Miro Heiskanen and Brett Ritchie scored in the third period and the Stars beat San Jose for their fourth consecutive victory.
Mattias Janmark also scored. Evander Kane and Logan Couture scored for San Jose.
Oilers 7, Wild 2
At Edmonton, Alberta, Leon Draisaitl scored twice and Connor Mcdavid had a goal and three assists, leading the Oilers to victory over Minnesota.
Ryan Nugent-hopkins, Zack Kassian, Alex Chiasson and Darnell Nurse also scored for the Oilers, who have won five of six. Draisaitl also had an assist on Nurse’s goal in the third period.
The Wild lost for the fifth time in six games. Marcus Foligno and Nino Niederreiter scored, and Alex Stalock made 22 stops in relief of an ineffective Devan Dubnyk.
Two Flames banned
At Calgary, Alberta, Flames defenseman Mark Giordano was suspended for two games by NHL on Friday night for kneeing, and Flames forward Ryan Lomberg was suspended for a game and head coach Bill Peters fined $10,000.
Giordano, the Flames’ captain, was assessed a tripping penalty after kneeing Minnesota’s Mikko Koivu on Thursday night in the third period of the Flames’ 2-0 home victory.
Late in the game, Lomberg went after Matt Dumba after the Wild defenseman steamrolled Flames center Mikael Backlund. Instigating in the final five minutes resulted in Lomberg’s automatic suspension and Peters’ fine.
