Allen, Blues blank Jets

St. Louis goalie stops all 26 shots in shutout of Win­nipeg.

WIN­NIPEG, Man­i­toba — Jake Allen made 26 saves for his first shutout of the sea­son and the St. Louis Blues beat the Win­nipeg Jets, 1-0, on Fri­day night.

Alex Steen scored dur­ing a sec­ond-pe­riod power play.

Allen’s last shutout was a 3-0 vic­tory over Dal­las on Dec. 7, 2017. He’s 8-7-4 in 21 games this sea­son.

Con­nor Helle­buyck made 25 saves for Jets. They had won four straight.

Stars 3, Sharks 2

At Dal­las, Ben Bishop made a sea­son-high 41 saves, Miro Heiska­nen and Brett Ritchie scored in the third pe­riod and the Stars beat San Jose for their fourth con­sec­u­tive vic­tory.

Mat­tias Jan­mark also scored. Evan­der Kane and Lo­gan Cou­ture scored for San Jose.

Oil­ers 7, Wild 2

At Ed­mon­ton, Al­berta, Leon Drai­saitl scored twice and Con­nor Mcdavid had a goal and three as­sists, lead­ing the Oil­ers to vic­tory over Min­nesota.

Ryan Nu­gent-hop­kins, Zack Kas­sian, Alex Chiasson and Dar­nell Nurse also scored for the Oil­ers, who have won five of six. Drai­saitl also had an as­sist on Nurse’s goal in the third pe­riod.

The Wild lost for the fifth time in six games. Mar­cus Foligno and Nino Nieder­re­iter scored, and Alex Stalock made 22 stops in re­lief of an in­ef­fec­tive De­van Dub­nyk.

Two Flames banned

At Cal­gary, Al­berta, Flames de­fense­man Mark Gior­dano was sus­pended for two games by NHL on Fri­day night for knee­ing, and Flames for­ward Ryan Lomberg was sus­pended for a game and head coach Bill Peters fined $10,000.

Gior­dano, the Flames’ cap­tain, was as­sessed a trip­ping penalty af­ter knee­ing Min­nesota’s Mikko Koivu on Thurs­day night in the third pe­riod of the Flames’ 2-0 home vic­tory.

Late in the game, Lomberg went af­ter Matt Dumba af­ter the Wild de­fense­man steam­rolled Flames cen­ter Mikael Back­lund. In­sti­gat­ing in the fi­nal five min­utes re­sulted in Lomberg’s au­to­matic sus­pen­sion and Peters’ fine.
