Eunice Miriam Tice

-

ROUND HILL - In the early hours of Monday, March 18, 2024, Eunice Miriam Tice passed peacefully from this life into the arms of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Proudly hailing from Topeka, Kansas, Eunice Miriam was the fifth of six children born to Milton and Katherine Belle Suddarth. She was preceded in death by her sisters Joyce, Louise, Erma, Ruth, and her brother Dee. Eunice was a proud graduate of Topeka High School, class of 1945. She married her high school sweetheart, Raphael Dean Tice, on December 23, 1946. Together they embarked upon a 40-year career in the U.S. Army that took them across the country and the Atlantic Ocean. Eunice was the consummate officer’s wife and life partner, from packing up every two or so years to holding down the fort when Dean was deployed to Vietnam to entertaining dignitaries in Berlin.

Although family always came first, Eunice was an active member of the Officers’ Wives Club, the Mount Vernon Republican Women’s Club, and the George Washington Rec Center. Dean and Eunice moved to Round Hill, Virginia, in 1998 where they were members of Purcellville Baptist Church. Her days were filled with reading, gardening, and watching the birds.

Eunice is already greatly missed by those she left behind. She is survived by her husband of 77 years, Dean Tice; her children, Karen Claterbos and Bill Tice (Michelle); five grandchildren, Barbara Kelly (David), Jane Linton (Brandon), Taylor Tice (Abbey), Alyssa Robinson (Kyle), and Hunter Tice; and five great-grandchildren, Alexander, Luke, Claire, Millie, and Sawyer.

A celebration of Eunice’s life will be held on Tuesday, April 9 at Hall Funeral Home in Purcellville, Virginia. Visitation with the family is at 10:00am and the service will begin at 11:00am. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society in honor of her sister, Erma, whose life was cut short by that terrible disease in 1971.

Arrangements by Hall Funeral Home, Purcellville, VA. Please visit www.hallfh.com to express online condolences to the family.
