The following items are based on information from police, unless noted.
Possession of Marijuana, Warrants: Another car stop, this one by Patrolman Robert Austin on Jan. 3 in the area of Woodlane and Irick roads, was made when he noticed a fraudulent inspection sticker. The driver, Rashaan K. Cummings, 32, of Willingboro, allegedly was unable to provide a driver’s license.
Cummings was found to have $3,504 in active warrants. Austin also noticed the odor of marijuana emitting from the vehicle. Cummings was charged with possession of a marijuana grinder containing marijuana.
UPPER MAKEFIELD, Pa. DUI Accident: On Dec. 31 at 2:35 a.m., Joseph R. Biederman, 35, of Laurel Circle, Newtown, Pa., was involved in a one-vehicle accident at the intersection of Pineville and Eagle Road. Biederman was subsequently arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol and other related charges. All charges were filed with District Court in Newtown.
Disorderly, Drunk: Patricia P. Goodfriend, 50, of Basswood Road, Levittown, Pa., was arrested on charges of disorderly conduct and public drunkenness at the Washington Crossing Inn, 1295 Gen. Washington Memorial Blvd. at 9:50 p.m. Dec. 31. All charges were filed with District Court in Newtown.
BENSALEM TWP., Pa. Fraud/forgery: This incident occurred when a 43-year-old Norristown, Pa. woman attempted to cash a $20 bill at PARX Casino and it was discovered to be counterfeit. State Trooper Steven Moyer reported the woman victim was unaware the bill was counterfeit; the bill was to be forwarded to the U.S. Secret Service. Investigation continues.
Harassment: This incident occurred when John Thomas Roethke, 55, of Horsham, Pa., slapped a 57-year-old Philadelphia man on the head for unknown reasons. He was taken into custody without incident, issued a non-traffic citation for harassment at State Police headquarters at Trevose, and released.
