Hopewell Valley hands Steinert first loss

HOPEWELL TWP. — Tom Huber led Keegan Wilson and Christian Dietz for first-half winners as the Hopewell Valley High boys soccer team handed Steinert its first setback, 2-1, yesterday.

Adrian Strama converted a pass from Aaron Beltran in the second half for the Spartans’ goal.

Robbinsvil­le 2, Notre Dame 2 (2OT)

ROBBINSVIL­LE — Firsthalf scores by Brendan Barca and Sam Achempong helped the Ravens earn a tie with the Irish.

Brian Hawkins scored in one half and Jake Nerwinski scored in the other for Notre Dame.

Robbinsvil­le goalkeeper David Pastuna made 29 saves to keep the visitors from scoring again. WW-P South 1, Trenton 0

PRINCETON JCT. — Eddison Gulama’s secondhalf tally lifted the Pirates over the Tornadoes.

WW-P South goalkeeper Jabril Samatar made eight saves to get the shutout.

HAMILTON — After Chris Perez scored in the first half to give the host Hornets a 1-0 lead, Arinze Iloka led Winst-Dy Joseph and Fulvio deStasio for second-half goals to propel the Northstars.

EWING — Mihai Toma scored a pair, while Matt Grust and Jeff Yung each passed for two assists as the Northern Knights shut down the Blue Devils.

Yaw and Nana Owusu-Boahen did the rest of the scoring for West WindsorPla­insboro North despite 11 saves by Ewing goalkeeper Christophe­r Unger.

Princeton 4, Lawrence 2

LAWRENCE — Colin Lamb had a goal and an assist as the Little Tigers scored three times in the second half to get past the Cardinals.

John Blair, Renaud Miahle and Kevin Halliday also scored for Princeton.
