HAMILTON — Dennis James De Bonis, 62, of Hamilton Township, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 25, 2012, surrounded by his loving family at home. Born in Trenton, Mr. De Bonis was a lifelong area resident. He was a sergeant with the City of Trenton Police Department for 27 years. He was formerly in the New Jersey National Guard. Dennis was a member of the PBA Local 11 Superior Officers Associatio­n, a member of Local 12 Retired Police and Fire Officers, a member of Masonic Lodge No. 50 Free and Accepted Masons, a member of the I.A.S.C., and was also a Shriner. He loved to work out, and was an avid Eagles and Phillies fan.

Son of the late Michael R. and Anna (Valenza) De Bonis, he is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Mary Jo (Suta) De Bonis; a daughter and son-in-law, Christina and Mark Spiegel; a granddaugh­ter, Maggie Spiegel; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Diane and Merlin M. Maruska, Debra and Michael Pezzuto; a brother and a sister-in-law, Michael R. and Susan De Bonis; several nieces and nephews, and many other family members and friends.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, Sept. 29,

at 10 a.m. at the D’Errico Whitehorse-Mercervill­e Chapel (Hamilton Brenna-Cellini), 2365 Whitehorse-Mercervill­e Road, Hamilton, NJ 08619. Entombment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery.

Friends and family may call on Friday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
