TRENTON Shots fired: A vehicle and a mail truck were shot on Coolidge Avenue around 5:15 on Saturday, police sources told According to the police source, shots were fired into a car on Coolidge Avenue. The source continued on to report that while police were investigating that shooting, more shots were heard. In that instance, a mail vehicle was said to have been struck. No one was reported to have been struck in either shooting. The source also said that two men on quads also rode by the incidents and one was dismounted from his ATV by an SUV door while a person was exiting a parked vehicle. The source said that the rider was arrested and the ATV was confiscated. Calls placed to Trenton Police headquarters seeking further information were answered, but police declined official comment and cited police procedure.
HAMILTON Crash: At 3:22 p.m. on Saturday a motorcycle and a car collided at Arena Drive and Hempstead Road. According to Hamilton Police, the motorcyclist, identified as 46-year-old Kenneth Hunter, was travelling west on Arena Drive in the outside lane approaching Hempstead Road. Hunter was struck by a 2013 Toyota Corolla driven by Roni Gallo, of Hamilton. Police said that Gallo stopped at the posted stop sign and then proceeded to enter the intersection. It was at that point that Gallo struck the middle of Hunter’s 2004 Harley-Davidson, police said she failed to observe Hunter approaching from the right. Police said Hunter was taken to Capital Health Regional Medical Center for treatment of minor injuries.
Officer Robert Chinsee of the Hamilton Police Traffic Unit is investigating the crash.
MOUNT LAUREL Rollers ripped off: Wheels and tires, valued at $2,000, were taken from a vehicle parked in the parking lot of Holman Toyota on Route 73 sometime between 10 p.m. on Aug. 6 and 9 a.m. on Aug. 7, police said. There was no sign of a break-in, police said.
Burgled: Jewelry, valued at about $460, was taken from a home in the unit block of Adams Street sometime between 4 p.m. on Aug. 2 and 8:30 a.m. on Aug. 4, police said. Entry was gained through an unlocked rear door, police said.
Cash and electronics, valued at about $1,600, was taken from a home in the 400 block of Equality Court sometime between 8 a.m. and 2:15 p.m. on Aug. 6, police said. A rear door was forced open, police said.
