EWING — Esther F. Harrell, 88, was born in Lake Waccamaw, NC, and moved to Trenton, NJ, in 1966.

She was a teacher for Hamilton Township Board of Education at Sayen Elementary School until retiring in 1985. She will always be remembered for her humility, generosity, warm smile and contagious laugh. Esther departed this life on Monday, September 30, 2013, at home.

Esther was predecease­d by her mother, Annie Bell Ward Powell; husband of 39 years, Arthur R. Harrell and her son, David J. Harrell. Left to cherish her precious memory: loving daughter, Dr. Theresa M. Harrell-Watkins and son-in-law Herbert E. Watkins Sr.; son, Arthur E. Harrell and daughter-inlaw Dorothy Harrell; close cousin, Ruth Ward McNeil; grandchild­ren, Terrence J and Justin Arty Harrell; great-grandchild­ren, Exzabian, Latrice and Theresa; sisters-in-law, Sarah Bennet (Martin), Julia Harrell, and Viola Dantzler. Special friends: Dr. Donald (Elaine) Brescia, Dr. Virginia Dixon, Fred (Lillian Faye) Minus, Rev. Irene Hunter, Linda Gibson, Thelma Washington, Martha Black, Cora “Queen” Webb, and very special caregivers, Norma Webster and Ebony A. Scott, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be Monday, October 7, 2013, 10:30 a.m. at Blessed Sacrament/Our Lady of the Divine Shepherd Roman Catholic Church, 716 Bellevue Avenue, Trenton.

Viewing from 8:30 a.m. until time of service at the church. Entombment will be at Ewing Cemetery Mausoleum, Ewing Twp., NJ.
