HAMILTON— Hamilton Township announced Thursday that plans have been introduced for a new Residence Inn by Marriot.

The announcement marks the second extended stay hotel coming to town this year; the other is Homewood Suites on US Highway 130 South.

The Residence Inn is slated for the northbound side of 130 next to the Shoppes at Hamilton. According to the release by the township, the 96,000 sq. ft. project would feature amenities for extended stay travelers, including spacious suites with separate living and sleeping areas, fully-equipped in-suite kitchens and a grocery delivery service available for guests.

Additionally, the Residence Inn would include am indoor pool and fitness center, an outdoor Sport Court, swimming pool and barbecue area, along with complimentary evening socials.

“The fact that a second, nationally-known extended stay hotel franchise is looking to expand into our community in this year alone speaks volumes about Hamilton Township, our vibrant local economy and the continued growth of economic opportunities here in our hometown,” said Hamilton Mayor Kelly Yaede, “This continues to build further upon the fact that Hamilton Township led Mercer County in ratable growth last year.”

Plans for the hotel will be reviewed by the Hamilton Township Zoning Board at its Oct. 8 public meeting.
