Nottingham gets surprise draw

HAMILTON — Nottingham, which has only three wins this season, played Klockner Road archrival Steinert to a 1-1 tie Tuesday.

The tie dropped the 8-1-2 Spartans into second place in the Colonial Valley Conference’s Colonial Division at 7-1-1 as it heads into a first place meeting at Notre Dame Thursday.

Toni Francoband­iero sank the Northstars goal tying goal in the second half and Chelsea Toscano had an excellent outing collecting 18 saves. Darah Wagner had the only score for the Spartans. Ewing 5, Lawrence 2 EWING — Danielle Ansley, Nicole Capuano, Rebecca Jenkins, Kendal Parah and Nicolette Towlen all scored for the Blue Devils. Sabrina Pascarella tallied both goals for the Cardinals, who are 0-6-1 in their last seven games.

Princeton 3, West Windsor South 1 PRINCETON JCT. — The Little Tigers’ Shannon Pawlak raised her goal scoring total to 21, adding two more as the Tigers moved close to clinching the CVC Valley title again. FIELD HOCKEY Hun 8, Solebury (Pa.) 3 PRINCETON — Julie Fassl compiled a hat trick while Francesca Bello and Blake Julie split four goals for the Raiders. The Spartans’ Eliot Hagerty scored two of the three goals in a losing effort. GIRLS TENNIS PDS 4, Hun 1 PRINCETON — Maria Martinovic and Emily Dyckman did not lose a game on their way to singles shut outs for the Panthers. The Raiders only victory came the doubles tandem of Caroline Wilkinson and Tali Prozmenter.
