MOORESTOWN — Kathryn M. Deacon, 81 of Moorestown, passed away Saturday, March 22, 2014 at the Evergreens. Born in Bordentown, she was a lifetime resident prior to moving to Moorestown in 2002. Kathryn was a member of the First Baptist Church of Bordentown where she served in numerous roles including moderator, treasurer and clerk. She was also a member of the American Baptist Women, the Community Concert Associatio­n and was a coordinato­r for Meals on Wheels of Bordentown.

She was also active in various capacities at the Evergreens, her favorite being the author of “Who’s New at the Evergreens.”

Daughter of the late S. Erwin and Miriam Sharp, she was predecease­d by her husband, Robert H. Deacon, her son, Douglas Deacon and her brother-in-law, George Deacon. Kathryn is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Thomas Deacon and Merrill Mezzacappa of Tewksbury and Roger and Jane Deacon of West Chester, Pa.; her sister, Elizabeth Corson of Moorestown; four grandchild­ren, Lindsay, Natalie, Courtney and Matthew; and two nieces, Virginia Headings and Nancy Schetter.

A memorial service will be held at noon on Saturday, March 29 at the First Baptist Church of Bordentown. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributi­ons may be made to the First Baptist Church of Bordentown, 127 Prince St., Bordentown, NJ 08505 or to the American Diabetes Associatio­n, 1701 North Beauregard St., Alexandria, VA 22311.
