Philadelphia man arrested for juvenile attack
BENSALEM, PA >> A Philadelphia man was arrested Sunday after he allegedly admitted to assaulting a juvenile female.
Shane Joseph McMichael, 21, is charged with kidnapping, false imprisonment, assault, burglary, trespassing and other offenses.
Police say officers were dispatched to the 2500 block of Forrest Avenue around 10 p.m. Sunday after receiving an emergency 911 call reporting a burglary and assault. Police then spoke with a juvenile female who said she was attacked by a man, later identified as McMichael.
The victim told police that McMichael was dressed in black clothing and wore a mask that concealed everything but his eyes and part of his forehead. The victim reported that McMichael hit her in the face and then choked her. The victim told police she recognized McMichael even though he wore a mask, so she called him by name, at which point McMichael
McMichael stopped the attack.
The victim then convinced McMichael to let her wash her face, police say, and while she was in the bathroom McMichael fled the residence.
The victim said she walked upstairs to her grandparents’ room where she found black rope tied between their doorknob and a banister preventing them from exiting the bedroom.
Police later located McMichael at his residence and found a Jeep in the driveway, which contained a rifle, black clothing and black rope lying in plain view inside the vehicle.
Police say McMichael was interviewed about the attack and confessed to the incident.
McMichael is being held in Bucks County prison on $2 million bail.
