Where’s My Money: Damian Puran, 36, was arrested over the weekend after he allegedly cut a man during an argument about money. Police say the argument was about money owed to the victim for worked he had completed for Puran. During the argument, police say, Puran grabbed a butcher knife and cut the victim in the center of his back. When Police arrived on-scene in the 900block of Chambers Street, they allegedly found Puran walking with the knife. The 38-year-old victim was treated at the hospital for a non-life-threatenin­g laceration to his back.

Assault on Police: Monica

Demmons, 45, was arrested Friday after she allegedly assaulted police who were helping Child Protection and Permanency remove her 7-year-old daughter from her home. Police say CP&P tired to take custody of the child earlier that day, but Demmons refused to cooperate. CP&P later returned to Demmons’ Carteret Avenue home, and when she refused to hand over her child, police were called. When officers intervened in the situation, police say, Demmons started hitting the officers and knocked one of them to the ground. Police say assisting units were eventually dispatched to the home to restrain and arrest Demmons. The officers who were assaulted were treated at the hospital for contusions and abrasions. Police are unsure exactly why CP&P removed the child from the house.

Knife Attack: Valerie Moore, 43, was arrested Friday for allegedly cutting a 61-yearold man with a knife. Police say Moore and the man were arguing when she suddenly grabbed a knife and cut him on the forearm and thumb. The victim was treated at the hospital and received

stitches to close his wounds.

Pot Bust: Lamier Jasmin, 20, was arrested Saturday after police found him in possession of approximat­ely 120 grams of marijuana. Police say officers were patrolling the 100 block of Hoffman Avenue when they saw a car that matched the descriptio­n of a vehicle used in a recent shooting. Police then conducted a motor vehicle stop and the driver, identified as Jasmin, allegedly tried to flee on foot but was stopped by law enforcemen­t. During the investigat­ion, police allegedly found marijuana in Jasmin’s jacket pocket and on the driver’s side floorboard of the car. Jasmin’s bail was set at $25,000 cash.

Pill Bust: James Peterson, 24, was arrested Saturday in connection with an outstandin­g warrant, and during the apprehensi­on police allegedly found him in possession of 13Percocet pills, three grams of marijuana and $763in cash, which was seized as suspected proceeds from drug sales.

Gun Arrest: Daquane McRae, 19, was arrested over the weekend after allegedly tossing a handgun during a lengthy foot chase through the city. Police say detectives from the Street Crimes Unit were patrolling Prospect Village when they saw a group of males gambling. When the detectives stopped to investigat­e, police say, they saw McRae tossing dice. McRae then grabbed a handgun that was lying on the ground, police say, and started running. During a lengthy foot pursuit, McRae allegedly tossed the gun. He was then tackled by police and eventually arrested after a brief struggle. The gun was previously reported stolen out of Florida, and police say it was equipped with a high-capacity magazine and loaded with hollow-point bullets.

Man Found Dead: Police say a 46-year-old man was found dead inside his Escher Street apartment, but the death does not appear to be suspicious. The man was found dead on the floor next to his bed by his roommate around 8p.m. Sunday. Police say drug parapherna­lia was found at the scene. The man was enrolled in a transition­al housing program and was being treated for substance abuse.
