Edward K. Earley, Sr., age 89, of Jacobstown, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 4, 2016 at Kennedy University Hospital in Cherry Hill.

He was born in New Egypt to the late Charles W. and Bessie (Pullen) Earley and was a lifelong resident of the area.

Ed served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was former Chief of Police in Plumsted Township. He also worked at Belasco Petroleum for over 40 years.

Prior to becoming a resident of the Mt. Laurel Center, he loved celebratin­g birthdays and holidays with his daughter-in-law’s family. Ed also loved his “grandpoodl­e” Calli, watching baseball and was a member of the New Egypt Church of Christ.

He was a loving father and husband who will be deeply missed.

Ed is predecease­d by his parents, his wife Mildred Earley, his sister Gladys Romans and his brothers Charles Earley, Ernest Earley and Leon Earley.

He leaves behind his son Edward Earley Jr and his wife Patricia of Jacobstown; several nieces and nephews; stepson Dennis Hendrickso­n and his wife Margaret of Brick; and two step-granddaugh­ters Alyssa and Sarah.

Relatives and friends are invited to gather on Thursday, April 7, 2016, from 6 to 8 p.m., at the Tilghman Funeral Home, located at 52 Main Street, New Egypt, NJ 08533 (TilghmanFH.com). A funeral service will be held on Friday, April 8, 2016 at 1 p.m., at the funeral home with interment to follow at Jacobstown Baptist Cemetery.
