Hernandez-Burt, Princeton hand ND first loss

PRINCETON >> The Princeton High baseball team handed Notre Dame its first setback, 5-1, Wednesday behind the complete-game pitching of Joaquin Hernandez-Burt and the hitting of Colin Taylor, who went 3-for-3 with two triples and four runs batted in.

Hernandez-Burt struck out six to outduel ND’s Mike Walley, who also went the distance and struck out six.

Tyler Kmiec gave Notre Dame a 1-0 lead in the top of the first inning.

ROBBINSVIL­LE3, HIGHTSTOWN­1 HIGHTSTOWN >> Grayson Cooke limited the Rams to five hits and struck out seven in 5 2/3 innings to pitch the Ravens to their second victory.

Alex Matt and Nick Sale singled in runs for Robbinsvil­le, which also received a pair of hits from Tyler McGuigan.

Sam Nagy doubled twice and scored Hightstown’s lone run in the seventhwhe­n Jack Zosulis doubled him home. NOTTINGHAM­12, WW-PSOUTH2 HAMILTON>> Tommy McParland went 5-for-5 with a double and five RBI to lead the Northstars past the Pirates.

Mike Malagrino knocked in another two runs for Nottingham. Evan Fiderer and Jeff Wood drove in runs for WW-P South.

Sam Cabot doubled and drove in Lawrencevi­lle’s run in the top of the first inning before Allentown came roaring back.
