Angelo Mendola, of Ewing Township, passed away on Thursday, July 28, 2016, at home.

Born in Villalba, Sicily, Italy, he resided in Ewing Township for the past 50 years.

Angelo served in the Italian Military as a Medic during World War II, and was a POW for five years.

Mr. Mendola retired in 1993 after 10 years from Princeton University, Princeton, NJ, and was formerly employed by ETS, Princeton for 10 years, and JC Vending, Trenton for 30 years until 1979.

Predecease­d by his parents, Vincenzo and Rosa Costello Mendola, his brothers, Giuseppe, Calogero, and Salvatore Mendola; he is survived by his wife of 59 years, Lucia Nalbone Mendola; his sons and daughters-in-law, Vincent A. Mendola, Angelo Alfred and Angela Mendola, and Dorene Mendola; a brother and sister-in-law, Vincenzo and Antoinetta Mendola; a sister, Carmela Nalbone; a brother-inlaw and sistersin-law, Carmelo and Anna Nalbone, and Lena Volpe; five grandchild­ren, Andrew Mendola and his fiancé, Lindsay Halverson, Stephen and Derek Mendola, Talia and Chloe Mendola, and many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins, and friends.

The funeral will be held on Monday, August 1, 2016, at 8:30 a.m., from the Brenna Funeral Home, Immordino Chapel, 1799 Klockner Road, Hamilton, NJ.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday at 10:00 a.m., at St. James Church, 29 East Paul Avenue, Trenton.

Entombment will follow in Saint Mary’S Mausoleum, Hamilton.

Calling hours for family and friends will be on Sunday evening, July 31, 2016, from 5 to 8 p.m., at the Brenna Funeral Home, Immordino Chapel, Hamilton.
