Trenton boxer to host ‘Run With The Champ’ event ahead of first pro match
TRENTON>> OnSaturdaySept. 24, 2016, residents in New Jersey’s capital city will receive a chance to train and workout with hometown native and National Golden Gloves Champion, Michael Hilton.
In preparation for his professional boxing debut in his hometown, Hilton and trainers from his gym are hosting a ‘Run With The Champ’ from the Battle Monument to The Legendary Ike Williams Boxing Academy on South Broad Street–wherethecommunity is invited to take part in an exercise circuit and one-on-one boxing sessions with Trenton native and Champion Trainer, Bo Lattimer, Jr. Residents will see first-hand how #TrentonMakesChampions and also get a hands on lesson in the ‘Academics Of Boxing’. A Block Party and gym showcase is also scheduled, where attendees will be treated to an innovative fitness presentation by MiNDBODY ACTiViSM, The DEFINITION and NJBARTENDAZ.
Organizers and participants will meet at the Battle Monument at 10 a.m. for preregistration and warm up for the 1.7 mile run to the gym. Healthyrefreshmentsandwater will be provided.
This event is one of many being planned by MiNDBODY ACTiViSM & Ike WilliamsBoxingAcademyforthe coming year(s). The theme is ‘Health Is Wealth & Movement Is Medicine’ — with a focus on addressing some serious health issues plaguing families and youth in the community.
With an impressive 3-0 record, Michael Hilton faces his 4th opponent who is also making his debut into the professional level of boxing. The fight is one of many taking place at the Sun Bank Arena on Saturday, Oct. 1. This ‘Run With The Champ’ event is definitely a hype moment of/on many levels as the City of Trenton takes center stage with one of its own representing. This is also the 1st Annual Mayors Cup for amateur fighters – hosted by Boss Lady Promotions and Mayor Eric Jackson.
