Allies delivers support services
Allies, Inc. plans to offer many diverse and community oriented services under the Division of Developmental Disabilities Supports Program. Our program options continuously grow and evolve to meet the needs of our community and we encourage you to contact us for an in-depth overview of our services.
We provide various program activities under the service categories of Day Habilitation, Prevocational Training, Community Inclusion, Supported Employment, and more. While each of our Supports Services can be accessed independently, we offer several program locations which provide two or more of our Supports Services on site. This allows participants to cycle between those activities that are of interest to them, and have been identified in their Individualized Service Plan (ISP), creating a full day while under the auspices of one Provider Agency.
This type of customizable programming meets the support needs of many different individuals. It allows participants to build stamina, determine areas of interest or skill, participate in community volunteerism, and explore employment while still being able to engage in arts, culture, and leisure activities. It is our belief that everyone we serve has ability – a skill, talent or area of interest to pursue – and learning how to develop it through supported programming fosters independence.
At Allies, fostering the emotional development and cultivating the interests of the people we serve are just as important to us as supporting their physical needs. That’s why we offer a variety of programs that connect people to their communities and bring greater depth to their lives.
Our self-funded recreational programs provide individuals the opportunity to travel and explore the world around them, witness the beauty of art through shows and plays; see movies; dine at restaurants; visit museums; go sightseeing; catch their favorite sports teams in action; and above all, create lasting friendships by having fun together!
Allies takes great strides to encourage the people we place in housing to become active participants in their communities. Our “community connectors” facilitate opportunities for them to get involved in recreational and civic programs. If a person is interested in gardening, Allies makes contact with the local gardening club. We connect our chess players with the chess club, stamp collectors with other stamp collectors, bookworms with reading groups, volunteers with civic organizations, and so on. Allies provides transportation and needed assistance for these activities, so participants can immerse themselves in the things they love to do!
All of Allies’ social programs are rooted in promoting self-worth through discovery and achievement. We help create the bridge that enables individuals with disabilities to enjoy all that life has to offer.
