The mother, Ford, approached The Trentonian on Wednesday with the story about her son.
Shehasbeentryingtoregain full custody of her son since he was temporarily placed with Woodward last year when Ford was charged with child endangerment after school officials noticed welts on his back.
Ford said her charges were dismissed after she completed pretrial intervention this year.
Ford said she was charged after she disciplined her son, striking him with a belt on his buttocks once after she caught him playing with fire.
Ford did parenting and anger management classes and underwent counseling to pave the way for her to get her son back.
But she said that did little to sway a judge from granting her full custody when she went to the court after her son
