Jazz Legend Princeton Pro Musica: Princeton Pro Musica, led by Dr. Ryan James Brandau, Artistic Director, will open its 38th season of choral masterwork­s on October 30, 2016at Richardson Auditorium in Princeton at 4p.m. The highlight of the concert will be one of the best of Haydn’s beloved masses, the Missa in Angustiis, or “Lord Nelson” Mass. Dr. Brandau has chosen to use the original orchestrat­ion ofstrings, timpani and trumpets, which allows the fiery baroque intensity of the opening movement to shine. Stage violinist Johanna Novom will perform Arvo Pärt’s Fratres, and the Polydora Ensemble, a vocal quartet, will sing the solos in the Haydn and also treat everyone to two of Brahms’ late quartets. The chorus will also perform Mendelssoh­n Verleih Uns Frieden, and the Brahms Geistliche­s Lied to round out the program. Tickets are $25to $60.
