Alleged serial burglar charged in 13 more burglaries
TRENTON >> A Lawrence man who was previously accused in a number of burglaries in Burlington County has been charged in connection with even more burglaries.
The New Jersey State Police reported on Wednesday that Cuthbert Anderson, 22, of Lawrenceville was charged in an additional 13 burglaries in East Amwell Township. Police said the string of burglaries occurred in the John Ringo section of East Amwell township beginning in July of 2016.. Police said as a result of their investigation they were able to compile evidence that led to Anderson’s February 7 arrest.
Police said that Anderson would allegedly enter and burglarize the homes through unlocked doors while the homeowners were asleep.
The New Jersey State Police said that the Kingwood Station detective bureau conducted an investigation along with detectives from the Edgewater Park and Burlington Township Police Departments.
Anderson is accused of burglarizing a Burlington Township home twice, once on January 20, and again on February 4. From that home he allegedly stole a number of personal items and two vehicles, police said. He also hit a home in Edgewater Park on January 27, again making off with personal items and a vehicle. Like the Hunterdon County burglaries, the suspect would burglarize houses while the homeowners were asleep after entering through unlocked doors
In addition to the burglaries Anderson was also linked to a pursuit in Hopewell Township, in connection with a stolen vehicle and a burglary in Raritan Township. State Police detectives notified both Hopewell and Raritan Township police were notified of the investigation, which led to additional charges.
In 2015 Anderson was arrested on May 27 after he allegedly stole a 2007 Acura from a home on Woosamonsa Road in Hopewell on May 25. Similar to his most recent charges, he entered the home through an unlocked door and made off with a wallet and keys to the car. He was later arrested in Cherry Hill in the stolen Acura.
