“The Visual and Performing Arts Small Learning Community is dedicated to creating an artistic community where creative expression leads to college and career opportunities,” Grant said Wednesday in an email. “In just this year, we have students who have been accepted to study the arts at Rutgers University

Additionally, students in this Small Learning Community earned Superiors and Best Ensemble at the NJ Thespians Festival, our orchestra students performed Lady Marmalade with Sarah Dash at the TPEF fundraiser for the Kennedy Center’s Any Given Child Program in Trenton Public Schools, our dance students received the highest marks at the State Teen Arts Festival at Ocean County College and our student actors performed in McCarter Theatre’s A Christmas Carol.”

The principal said there is a lot to high-

light at TCHS.

“We have many things to celebrate including our rising graduation rate, the $155 million dollar construction of the new stateof-the art high school and our expanding Small Learning Communities,” Grant said. “The Career Focused Small Learning Communities at Trenton Central High School encourage students to explore their interests, pursue their passions and hone their skills. Together, all stakeholders provide a rigorous learning experience that begins the moment students walk into the building and lasts the rest of their lives.”
