Beverly A. Cisney, formerly of Lawrenceville

Beverly A. Cisney, 75, of Chatam, Virginia and formerly of Lawrenceville died peacefully on Wednesday July 5, 2017 at St. Joseph’s Skilled Nursing Unit, Lawrenceville, NJ.

Born in Peterborough, N.H. Bev was a long time resident of Lawrenceville. She retired in 1996 as an executive secretary after many years of service with E.T.S. (Educational Testing Service) of Lawrenceville. She was also a former Governess for the Headmaster at the Lawrenceville School.

Active in Catholic Charities of the Trenton Diocese she was named the Volunteer of the Year for Catholic Charities in 2000. Bev was also an avid sports fan, a passion she began while serving at the Lawrenceville School and continued throughout her life and in particular for soccer and lacrosse.

Daughter of the late Donald and Barbara Pelton and sister of the late Roy J. Pelton; she is survived by her husband, James C. Cisney, her daughters, Patricia A. Cisney and her partner Joe Pineiro, Victoria L. Nielsen and her husband Micheal C. Nielsen and Holly L. Cisney; her grandchildren, Samantha and James Eisenhauer, Elizabeth and Christian Nielsen, Russell James Cisney Stackhouse and John Reid Stackhouse; her brother Donald J. Pelton and his wife Elaine; her sister-in-law, Delores Pelton and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Bev will be held on Friday at 11 AM at Poulson & Van Hise Funeral Directors, 650 Lawrence Road, Lawrenceville, NJ. Burial will follow in St. Hedwig Cemetery, Ewing Township.

Visitation for relatives and friends will be held on Thursday from 6 to 8 PM at the funeral home.
