Margaret H. Shelby of Forked River
Margaret H. Shelby (nee Lawrence), 83, of Forked River passed away on August 2, 2017 at Southern Ocean Medical Center. Margaret was born to William and Emily Lawrence in Philadelphia, PA. She was formerly of Lindenwold and Ewing, NJ before spending the last 19 years in Forked River. Margaret enjoyed crocheting, playing cards and going to the casino. She was a cat and music lover and a collector of Precious Moments. She was devoted to her children and grandchildren, whom she all loved dearly whether they were near or far. She cherished her family greatly. Margaret was a parishioner of St. Pius X RC Church, Forked River.
Mrs. Shelby was predeceased by her husband of 40 years, Terrence F. Shelby and her son, Terrence E. Shelby along with her 5 siblings, Ed, John, George, Ellen Kennedy and Emily Olexa. Surviving are her daughter, Ellen Heckel, sons, William and Michael, grandchildren Jeremee, Mike Jr., Grant, Trinity, William Jr., Christopher, Nicholas, Rebecca, Shelby, Terry, Margaret and Johnny and greatgrandchildren Giselle, Liam, Lucas, Lincoln, Terrence, Ashlee and Savannah. She will be missed by her nephew, Edward Kennedy (Connee), whom was like a brother to her, a sister-in-law, Ann Conlon, former daughter-in-law, Shirley Shelby and dear friend, Frank DiMichelle, along with other extended family and friends.
A Viewing will be held on Thursday, August 10th from 9:00-11:30 am at the Riggs Funeral Home, 130 North Rt. 9, Forked River, NJ 08731. A Funeral Liturgy will be offered at 12:00 pm at St. Pius X RC Church, Forked River followed by entombment at St. Mary’s Parish Cemetery, Manahawkin.
