A National Consumer Advisory Board honored Dr. Navleen Thind with an “America’s Best Dentists” award in 2016.

Accolades noted Thind’s superior training, experience, continuing education and commitment to excellence.

Mass-produced certificates can miss out on other qualities. For instance, Thind considers customer service a major objective for her business model.

In fact, her most recent venture developed from understanding issues regarding public transportation for patients traveling from Trenton to her Academy Dental practice on Route 33 in Hamilton.

“We have a number of clients who travel here from Trenton, some of them by bus. They may have to take two buses. That trip takes time,” Thind explained.

When Thind and husband Gagandeep Sandha, an investment banker, discussed expanding her dental practice, they opted for an office on South Warren St. in Trenton, a popular street that shows signs of revitalization.

The Thinds celebrated success this week during a ribbon cutting ceremony that officially opened “Capitol Smiles Dental.”

Thind, a Lawrenceville resident and mother of two, said search for a third office entailed Dr. Navleen Thind said clients’ issues with transportation influenced decision to open dental office on South Warren St. in Trenton.

significant investigative work performed by her husband.

“It’s great that we found office space on South Warren. There’s a lot of foot traffic, plus, a Starbucks is opening across the street. It’s an area that’s getting better, a happening area “Thind said.

Thind, a native of Punjab Ludhiana, India, practiced dentistry for eight years before a 2007 marriage brought her to the U.S.

The relocation meant Thind needed recertification. She graduated from NYU in 2012 then had 1 year at University Medicine & Dentistry New Jersey.

Thind worked as an associate in established dental offices in Connecticut and Philadelphia before opening Academy Dental.

A third office opened in East Orange in September as Thind cultivated success by working seven days a week.

“I always wanted to have my own practice. Success comes with a lot of help. For instance, Dr. Gupta Aditya oversees the Trenton office. And my husband does a lot for,” Thind noted.

“We’re looking forward to being in the city. Many of our clients are state workers. Our downtown office will be convenient for a lot of people. Our focus will always be about offering quality care and looking out for the community whether it’s East Orange, Trenton or Hamilton.”
