Judge homers twice in Yanks’ loss

TORONTO » Jose Bautista had two hits and a walk in what was likely his final home game with the Toronto Blue Jays, leaving to a standing ovation during the ninth inning of a 9-5 win over the Yankees on Sunday.

Bautista, who turns 38 next month, is hitting .203 with 22 homers and 62 RBIs, and Toronto appears unlikely to exercise its half of a $17 million mutual option.

Aaron Judge homered twice for the Yankees, increasing his AL-leading total to 48 — one shy of the major league rookie record set by Mark McGwire in 1987. Judge has 11 home runs in September.

A day after clinching a postseason berth, New York dropped five games behind AL East-leading Boston with seven games to play. The Yankees’ lead over Minnesota for the top AL wild card was cut to 4½ games. PHILLIES 2, BRAVES 0 ATLANTA » Nick Pivetta outpitched Luiz Gohara in a matchup of rookies, Mikael Franco homered to break up a scoreless tie and the Phillies beat Atlanta in the Braves’ final home game of their first season at SunTrust Park.

Pivetta (7-10) threw six innings, allowing five hits and one walk with four strikeouts. The righthande­r earned his second straight win.

NATIONALS 3, METS 2 NEW YORK » Max Scherzer struck out 10 and outpitched Jacob deGrom in a matchup of aces, and the Washington Nationals edged the Mets to clinch home-field advantage in the NL Division Series.

Trea Turner hit a tworun homer and Scherzer (16-6) limited the Mets to three hits and one walk over six innings. He leads the National League with 263 strikeouts and ranks second to Dodgers lefty Clayton Kershaw (2.26) with a 2.55 ERA.
