Who: Hartford (2-0) at Rider (1-1)

When: Wednesday, 7 p.m., Alumni Gymnasium

TV/ Radio: None/ 107.7 FM The Bronc Last Time Out: Rider lost to Xavier, 10175; Hartford def. Gordon College, 80-63. Series History: Rider leads 4-1 Background: These two schools are meeting for the fifth time in the last six seasons. The Broncs won in double overtime the last time these two hooked up at Alumni Gymnasium.

Bouncing Back: Rider suffered its first defeat against No. 15 Xavier, but it wasn’t all doom and gloom. The Broncs had a decent spell at the end of the first half and beginning of the second where they cut a 19-point deficit to five before the Musketeers stepped on the gas. Stevie Jordan scored 14 points, dished out nine assists and grabbed six rebounds. Jordan Allen kicked in 14 points as well. 3 Season: The Broncs are going to continue to let it fly despite a rather woeful 6-for-30 performance against Xavier. Coach Kevin Baggett said 30 treys may be the norm with the way this team is built (there really isn’t an interior presence who can score the way Kahlil Thomas did last season), but they’ll have to shoot it better than 20 percent to win games. Rider was 14-for-31 in the opener and the friendly rims in Lawrenceville should make for an upgraded performance.

Scouting Hartford: The Hawks are coming off a victory over Division III opposition, so it’s hard to gauge just how good they are early in the season. John Carroll, a 6-8 forward from Ireland, is scoring at a 20.5 points per game clip. Hartford has scored at least 80 points in its first two games. Did you know?: Rider assistant coach Marlon Guild graduated from Hartford in 2005.
