Paul Mitnaul, Tuskegee Airman, 90, of Lawrence, departed this life on November 6, 2017 at Merwick Care & Rehabilita­tion Center.

Born in Goldsboro, North Carolina on June 5, 1927, Paul was educated in the Princeton Regional School System where he graduated with honors from Princeton High School (Class of 1945). He earned his B.S. in Electrical Engineerin­g from the University of California at Los Angeles.

Paul was an U.S. Air Force Veteran of World War II. Paul became the Co-Owner of Nassau Television and Appliance until taking a position at RCA in Hightstown, where he helped to invent the video disc.

Paul was most recently a Campus Monitor at The Ethel McKnight Elementary School in the East Windsor Regional School District.

He was a member of many organizati­ons including, the Aviation Advisory Commission (at MCCC); The New Jersey Pilots Associatio­n and he was the Chapter President (14 years) for the Albert Forsythe Chapter of Negro Airman Internatio­nal, NJ. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Princeton.

Son of the late Oscar and Leora Mitnaul, he was preceded in death by his brother, Oscar Mitnaul, Jr., and his sisters, Gladys Mitnaul and Esther Butler.

He is survived by his sister, Laura Wooten, his sons, Arnold Mitnaul and Bryan Mitnaul, Grandchild­ren, Mary Mitnaul Gillette (Reggie), David, Todd, Marissa, and Deanna Mitnaul, nieces, Carolyn Love, Yvonne Hill and Leola Griffin, nephews, Chester Wooten, Jr. and Paul Wooten, great grandchild­ren, Ryan, Eric, Amanda, Marquis, Olivia, Sam and Kaleb, many great nieces and nephews, and special friends, Sophie Williamson, Shawn Gillette and Diane Cusumano.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday November 17, 2017 at the First Baptist Church of John St. and Paul Robeson Place Princeton NJ. Calling hours will be 9am until time of service at the church. Interment will be held 10:30am Monday, November 20, 2017 at the Washington Crossing National Cemetery Newtown, PA.
