Another high school girls soccer season is in the books with this one going down in history.

Allentown won a program record 22 games and captured a first ever Group III state title.

Steinert put its name back on the Mercer County Tournament trophy by handing the Redbirds their only loss in the championship game. It was the Spartans’ third county crown and first since 2006.

In the prep ranks, Pennington won a record 13th Prep A title, while Princeton Day, anchored by Prep Player of the Year Madison Coyne, earned a share of the Prep B crown.

Here are the Trentonian All-CVC and Area teams:

EMMA PASCARELLA, JR., ALLENTOWN » The CVC and Area Player of the Year led all players with 59 points. The Rutgers commit scored 19 goals and added 21 assists. She had three goals and five assists in the Redbirds’ run to the state title. GIANA PITTARO, SR., STEINERT » Pittaro can play all over the field and that’s how Spartans coach Mike Hastings utilized her. Committed to Yale as a defender, Pittaro scored 19 goals and dished out 13 assists for 51 points. Once Steinert had the lead, she often dropped back to make sure it was protected. GIA GIRMAN, FR., NOTTINGHAM » Girman burst onto the scene with 14 goals in her rookie campaign, which tied for fifth in the CVC. The Northstars won nine games, and with Girman in the fold, the future looks bright. DEVON LIS, SR., PRINCETON » The Georgetown-bound Lis controlled the midfield for the Little Tigers, who went 10-6-2 this season. She finished with 15 goals and 11 assists. Her 15 tallies ranked fourth in the CVC.

CARLY ROCHE, SR., ALLENTOWN » If Roche is in fact done playing soccer, she went out on top. The senior scored the gamewinning goal in the state championship game to cap her season with 14 goals and 14 assists. JULIE CANE, SR., HOPEWELL VALLEY » The Bulldogs needed Cane to come up with big numbers, and the New Hampshire commit delivered 18 goals and eight assists for 44 points. She finished an outstanding career with 48 goals and 39 assists.

LYNZIE MORGAN, SR., STEINERT » Morgan was the all-important ball winner for an 18win Spartans side. The Rowan-bound senior ended up with five goals and eight assists.

RILEY FINNEGAN, SR., HOPEWELL VALLEY » Finnegan made the switch from outside back to the center and was a rock for a young Bulldogs squad that spent much of the season getting young players their first taste of varsity action. She even chipped in three assists for 11-8-2 Hopewell.

MARIN HARTSHORN, SR., ALLENTOWN » Hartshorn proved she excels on the soccer field as well with a terrific campaign at center back for the state champion Redbirds. A Rutgers lacrosse commit, Hartshorn added three goals, mostly on set pieces, including the opener in the Group III final.

GABBY DELISA, JR., STEINERT » Not only is DeLisa a solid defender, but she packs a mean free kick. The junior scored twice in the MCT final in her defining moment of the season. She helped the Spartans keep 14 clean sheets.

ERIKA GOLIK, SR., STEINERT » If there was a CVC Most Improved Player award it would go to Golik. The senior goalkeeper worked hard in the offseason to improve and it showed on the pitch as she recorded 13 of Steinert’s 14 shutouts. Golik was also the hero of the penalty shooout win in the MCT semifinals, stopping a pair of kicks.

KIM MAURER, ALLENTOWN » Maurer won’t be one of the more underrated high school coaches in the state any longer. In her fourth season, she guided the Redbirds to 22 wins and a state title, the first in program history. Maurer edged out Steinert’s Mike Hastings and Nottingham’s Christie Fink for the honor. KYLE DAIGLE, FR., PENNINGTON » Talk about a great first impression. Daigle possesses quick feet to move the ball around would-be tackles and notched a team-high 15 goals and nine assist for the Red Raiders. NICOLE APUZZI, SR., HUN » The Colgate commit patrolled the midfield for the MAPL winning Raiders. She finished with five goals and six assists. All five of her goals came in the last five games as Hun went 5-1 in its last six.

GIANNA LUCCHESI, JR., PENNINGTON » One of the more versatile players in the area, Lucchesi was deployed a center back by Pennington, although she often had license to get forward, especially when the Red Raiders wanted to change things up and go more direct. Lucchesi scored four times this season. OLIVIA MAHONY, SR., PENNINGTON » The other half of Pennington’s dynamic central defense pairing made sure the team kept 11 shutouts in 16 games. Mahony is both strong in the air and comfortable with the ball at her feet. MADISON COYNE, SR., PDS »You won’t find another player in the area as cool with the ball at her feet than the Prep Player of the Year. The George Washington-bound senior center back anchored the back four for Pat Trombetta’s side as it went on to earn a share of the Prep B title. Coyne also features one of the best free kicks in the area. She leaves PDS having won a trophy in each of her four seasons.

MIA JUSTUS, FR., PENNINGTON » The young goalkeeper came in highly rated and ended up with nine clean sheets despite missing the first two weeks of the season while she was with the U.S. youth national team in Germany. One of the best prospects in the area.

?? JOHN BLAINE — FOR THE TRENTONIAN ?? Princeton Day senior center back Madison Coyne is the Prep Player of the Year. The George Washington commit anchored the Panthers to a share of the Prep B championship.
